Fr.Nsaali(in black Cassock)with some students on his 20th  priestly Anniversary

The head teacher of St.Kirigwaijo Secondary School Rev.Fr.Nsaali Mukasa Andrew celebrated 20 years in priesthood on 4th.July 2013. He made a simple but pious celebration marked by equally simple gestures like, putting on a black cassock the whole day, taking pictures with the staff and students and addressing the students at the assembly after their evening prayers.

Fr. Andrew was ordained a priest on the 4th.July.1993 at his home parish-Bujuni, Hoima Diocese. He was appointed to St.Kirigwajjo secondary school in 1997 and became its Head teacher in 2004.

He has overseen the major developments in this school. As he celebrates 20 years in priesthood, he looks back with joy that the good Lord who called him to priesthood has enabled him to transform the lives of many people in the sector of education as well.

While addressing the students and staff on that day, he said “I am proud of serving my Lord.” On the same occasion, he celebrated 50 years of age.

Having spent so far more than half of his years of priesthood working at this school, he has helped many people to grow and people who have studied from this school and teachers who have taught here under his headship testify to his rare gift of good leadership. He has always marveled all stakeholders of the school with his hard work, exemplary discipline, unwavering adherence to the routine timetable of the school, strictness, patience, his love for the needy students from poor families, his support to the education of the girl child and above all his sense of humour.

At all times even during celebrations, his motto and love for work remains vivid in  reflecting his guiding principle “actions speak louder than words”

       SCHOOL ENROLLMENT

         (FROM 2010 TO 2014)

YEAR    MALE       FEMALE         TOTAL

2010      291             297                          588

2011     316               324                          640

2012    396                392                           788

2013     506             508                            1014

2014     487             488                              975

The enrolment of the school has been rising every year. The drop in the enrolment for this year 2014 has been due to the opening of a new private school in the neighbourhood which inevitably attracted some students from our school. The constant rise in the enrolment however has been attributed to a number of factors like the good leadership in the school, good performance in both UCE and UACE, good environment, good facilities, committed staff and reading culture imparted among the students.

Over the years, the school has been performing well in UNEB examinations and still continues to excel. In 2012, the school produced the best candidate in Kibaale district (the district where it is situated) by the names of Tindimwebwa Stalin. He scored 12 aggregates.

In 2013, the school produced 23 first grades at UCE and produced one of the best performers in the district in UACE by the names of Kugonza Fred who scored 17 points. This student has been admitted to Makerere University Kampala under government sponsorship on the national merit. He will be pursuing a Bachelors degree in Agriculture and rural innovation.

The school continues to provide the best education in Kibaale district and has helped many students to join higher institutions of learning by giving them a strong foundation and above all a good name because of the high discipline exhibited by students who go through it.

ST KRIGWAJJO SS HOSTS FRIENDS FROM ST.JOSEPHS SHRINE CATHOLIC PARISH-USA

St kirigwajjo ss hosts visitors from st josephs shrine catholic parish-usa every year. for this year 2013,they visited the school on 5th.February. They included Rev.Fr.David the Parish priest of st,Josephs shrine parish,Deacon Gene and his wife Jean.

We had a really wonderful time with them. They addressed students, and the staff members. At the end of the day, they planted mermoraail fruit trees each in the school compound. The type of the fruit trees planted were mangoes-a favourite fruit for school children here in Uganda.

These visitors gave many words of spiritual development and wisdom to both the staff and students.

The Parish priest Fr. David emphasized the importance of knowing the truth.He said;

-"Jesus is the truth"

-"whatever you study, you study the truth"

-"life is hard, but it is twice as hard if you are stupid"

"-sin makes you stupid"

-"If you give in to immorality, your intellect is darkened and you become stupid."

-"live a life of integrity, you will be happy"

Meanwhile,Deacon Gene emphasized on the importance of people especially the youths seeking "real power" or "genuine power."

This is how he said it.

-Many people in the world love to have power

-But quite often, many of them fail to seek real power-power that lasts

-As students, you should seek power that lasts.

He continued this way;

-Education is power

-Whoever is educated has power and is powerful. For example, the President of USA-Obama is powerful

-Education makes you free

Advising students to embrace the anti AIDS compaing of  "Abstain,Be faithful, and Use a Condom-commonly abbreviated as ABC" Deacon Gene had this to say.

-ABC is power

-But if you embrace A and B,then you do not need the C!
